we went into quito yesterday for the english special assembly day. it was held at the quito assembly hall which is really nice, but not in a super nice neighborhood. below is a photo of the inside. there were just under 300 in attendance there are 3 english congregations (quito, guayaquil, and cuenca) and 3 groups (riobamba, manta, and atuntaqui 10 minutes away from us). it was so awesome to get the program in english and understand ALL of it without having to concentrate so hard! i was pretty impressed with myself, though, because i was following along with my notes from our spanish special day, and my notes were pretty good! i guess i got more out of it in spanish than i thought i did. it was also great to see some friends we dont get to see too often, and meet some new people from around the country. what was pretty cool too, was that most of the people interviewed or used in demos were locals - so it was really encouraging to see them speaking english, knowing they are struggling with learning a new language just like we are.
