convention in spanish

last weekend we went to the convention in spanish. since we had our notes from the english convention it was pretty easy to follow along, which was good. the convention is held in ibarra, which is about a half hour drive from where we are. it's at a "coliseum" and i expected it to be really big but it was so tiny! it was indoors (good) but just had stadium seating with concrete slabs.... fortunately we were warned so we brought seat cushions to sit on so our butts did ok. on saturday the attendance was over 2900 and on sunday it was over 3300! we were told that the publisher count for the congregations assigned was 1300 (of course remember average congregation attendance would be much higher than 1300 due to children and regular studies attending). but how amazing, there were 2000 in attendance on sunday that aren't publishers! we could tell by the dress of many that they were visitors. everyone seemed to really enjoy the program, especially the dramas on saturday and sunday - the only time there was seriously total silence! our congregation had the drama and they did an awesome job. the costumes were great and it was hilarious to see some of the brothers and sisters as pharoah and everything. OH and i didn't get the official baptism count but josh counted 52 and i counted 51 so somewhere around there! very exciting!
