costa rica english congregation update
hi everyone! i just got some great news from a sister in the Quepos English congregation in Costa Rica, where we spent 3 fantastic months last year. there is a town about an hour away from Quepos, to the south, called Uvita. there is a Spanish congregation there and a few Americans and Canadians in the congregation. the territory is part of the Quepos English congregation's territory and we spent quite a bit of time in the area when we were there. anyway, there has been enough interest in the English field in that area to form a Uvita English Group! they had their first meeting this past Sunday and the Quepos English is supporting them until they become a congregation. it sounds like there is great potential for it to happen quickly. at the first meeting there were 22 from Quepos, 8 from Uvita, 3 bible students from Uvita, and 3 visitors. the visitors were actually the husband and 2 kids of one of the bible students. the husband of the bible student said he enjoyed the meeting and he is going to keep coming. AND, the most exciting news for me (personally) is that a lady that Naomi (another need greater in CR) and i met in Uvita is STILL STUDYING and she and her little son attended the English meeting on Sunday as well! and her son commented 3 times! it just goes to show you that you never know who might live at the very end of that very bumpy, very long dirt road that seems to lead nowhere. (for any of you who ever did mapping with josh and me, you'd know that he always insisted we go as far as we can and i always thought we should turn around LOL).
