cuenca is my favorite city in ecuador. it is the 3rd largest city and has a very european and cosmopolitan feel. it has a lot of foreigners (not just americans) and a lot of students. the old part of the town is gorgeous with lots of colonial architecture and plazas. there are several rivers running through the city and a ton of great restaurants and cafes. we spent a full weekend in cuenca and were able to meet up with the campozano's for a full day and night. they also had us spend a night with them at their house which was awesome.
Remind me, where is Cuenca in relation to where you live?
ReplyDeleteunfortunately it's about an 8 hour drive! we split it up and spent one night in cotapaxi (about mid-way between us and cuenca). but it is a MUST SEE for when you come visit us :)
