field service highlights

on the last page of the KM each month are "field service highlights" and in the october KM down here, ecuador is highlighted!  i wanted to share the details because it's pretty encouraging and makes us feel like we're really in the right place (for us, for now)....

this is a rough translation (done by me) but you'll get the idea!

"for the memorial in april there were 246,958 in attendance, which is 3.2 times the number of publishers.   this same month began the first two congregations in the indigenous language Shuar.  in an assembly there were 243 indigenous Shuar present, which opens a wide field*.  for the month of may we reached a new peak of 77,323 publishers, which is the 4th consecutive peak to date, bringing an increase of 4% on the 2011 service year.  there were 135,450 bible studies reported; which is 1.75 studies per publisher.  certainly "the fields are white for harvesting" (john 4:35)"

*disclaimer:  i needed google translate to help me with that phrase, "which opens a wide field"

we also had our CO visit a few weeks ago and our congregation is doing really well.  we have had 28 regular pioneers for the past year, and 2 new ones just got on the list starting this september - both of them are young sisters (about 15 years old) who are still in school (called "colegio") and have elected to take classes only on saturdays so that they have the week free to be in the ministry.  they join a 3rd sister who is in the same situation and who is in her 2nd year of pioneering.
