mom and dad's visit - cuenca

so it's been quite some time since mom and dad were here, and i am only now getting around to posting some pictures and updates.

we met mom and dad in cuenca, which is my favorite city in ecuador.  it's about an 11 hour drive from where we live, so mom and dad flew directly into cuenca, and we drove down to meet them.  cuenca has a lot of colonial architecture, delicious restaurants, and great weather.  we thoroughly enjoyed it!

after cuenca we did a little road trip back up north to otavalo.  more on that later...

panoramic of one of the main parks: parque calderon
(and there was a parade going on!)

art vendors congregate under the broken bridge

 at turi, overlooking the city

 at the campozano's beautiful home

view from the balcony of our fabulous hotel: los balcones

 graffiti

 one of cuenca's many cathedrals
(note the blue domes, so pretty)

 mom and dad, with art

we went to the 2 day circuit assembly (in english)
and met up with friends, erin and caleb stone
(whom we were with in costa rica in 2010, and pioneer school in VT in 2012)

we ate lots of delicious food

 visited the local indoor market

 walked along the rivers

 played some cards

had a delicious dinner (lots of meat) with the campozano's
