mom and dad's visit - riobamba / andaluza

after the train in alausi, we drove up to riobamba to spend the night at the andaluza hosteria.  it was a very old hacienda, really beautiful, and we took a nice walk around the grounds and then had a great dinner.  click on the pictures to enlarge them.

we passed these guys while driving along the panamerican highway!
just hauling down the road (in the left lane).

 waiting for dinner

josh ordered meat on a "volcanic rock" which was totally not what we expected it to be. the waiter brings out your meat raw (above).... then....

...he sets the rock on fire (above).... and then...

you cut off a bite and cook each piece individually to your liking (as i am doing above).
yes, i hijacked josh's dinner so i could try it!

  2. I love that the lady in the first picture has her purse over her arm. Riding in style. I think Josh should serve a volcanic rock steak for your next dinner party.
