so since we are in our last month now, and we returned our rental car today and knew we'd be a bit unreliable in the coming week or 2 due to possibly not having transportation and also having friends visit, i coordinated with another sister to start studying with debra ASAP. debra lives in the mountains of uvita, which is about an hour an a half south of quepos. there is a spanish congregation in uvita, and it happens that there are quite a few english speaking brothers and sisters in the hall there, from canada and the US. so we arranged to meet a local sister, connie, at lunch time and take her to meet debra and take over the study. there is the potential of having an english group down in uvita in the future, and debra's son nicky is fluent in spanish so it's likely that they would go to the local spanish hall anyway. the transition went well, and connie and debra are going to have their first study together on tuesday! connie is also going to arrange for a brother to study with debras son nicky, as he's always asking questions. in fact, he asked us if we could explain the 3rd trumpet blast from revelation. um.... maybe i'll let the brother handle that one!
on friday we met up with a brother named franklin from the local jaco spanish congregation. he and josh went to meet luis in the afternoon and they finished chapter 1 in the bible teach book (in spanish). luis told franklin that he wants to be a jehovahs witness so that he can teach others.
we will stay in touch with franklin and connie so we can hear how luis and debra are doing in the coming weeks and months!
It's so heartwarming to hear about so many benefitting from Jehovah's patience.
